Jamie R. Allen is a fine artist living on the island of ‘Oahu. Jamie’s original mixed media pieces are a visual delight with an incredible use of color, composition and feeling! Jamie’s Hawaiian-inspired landscapes are created with environmental objects from both land and sea. Through an intricate layering process, Jamie’s focus is on subject matter that is gathered from her daily encounters with the world around her. She gathers and registers objects of beauty, ideas of time, land, and the cycle of life. Examples can range from tiny seeds, berries or a wide range of flowers. She is especially inspired by color combinations and surface textures. Jamie combines all this gathered information to create her own artistic images that mix ideas from past and present.

She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2005 with a BFA in Fine Arts and received her MFA from Montclair State University in New Jersey. After graduating, she moved to Hawai‘i to be closer to her grandmother and well known Hawai‘i artist Joan Allen, Jamie began teaching at the college level at Hawai‘i Pacific University and continued her painting. The demands of a successful art career has cause Jamie to focus on her painting full time. Jamie has quickly become one of Halele‘a’s most successful artists. Her original works are now found in collections across the world. Jamie focuses on original pieces in a variety of sizes. She has also been featured in some prestigious commercial projects. We feature most of her current larger pieces on the website. Please contact us for more information on small works or commercial projects.
