FEATURED WORK
Luminosity Distance . 2025
Sally French and Koichi Yamamoto have been collaborating since 2022, combining monotypes, collages, and experimental drawings to create kites. Their work is deeply influenced by the environment surrounding French’s studio in Kalaheo, Kauai. Yamamoto brings his printmaking expertise to establish atmosphere, light, and mood, while French infuses the work with a vital emotional presence—expressions of life that are both specific and unforgettable.
Together, they create a unique dialogue of images, seeking new compositions that both celebrate and question the human condition.
In June 2025, they began a new body of work titled “Luminosity Distance,” inspired by rays of light, underwater movement, and dynamic currents. The compositions are designed in relation to the Golden Ratio (1:1.618), with dimensions of 24 × 39 inches and 15 × 24 inches.
